Direct from the UK and only presenting at this event, Alex Notay, Placemaking and Investment Director at London-based Thriving Investments (formerly PFP Capital) brings you insights and strategies on how to deliver affordable BTR.

Gemma Pinnell, Right Lane Consulting, has a well-earned reputation across both the housing and superannuation sector and is back by popular demand after her excellent facilitation of last year’s workshop. CHIA is delighted to have Right Lane’s insight and support again for this year’s event
Facilitators
Alexandra Notay is Placemaking and Investment Director at Thriving Investments, the fund and asset management arm of Places for People Group, overseeing a UK-wide residential strategy. She has 18 years’ strategic advisory and investment experience having worked extensively across four continents and is an internationally recognised expert on housing, placemaking and ESG. Alex is a published author and editor of over 30 books and reports on real estate including the renowned ULI UK Best Practice Guide on Build to Rent (2014, 2016). Alex is Chair of the British Property Federation (BPF) working group on residential ESG, former Vice-Chair of the ULI UK Residential Council and currently serves on BPF’s Build to Rent Committee, AREF’s ESG / Impact Investing Committee and is a Member of CREFC Europe. She is also a Non-Executive Director of essensys plc, Co-Chair of the Creative Land Trust,and is Trustee of the SunScreenIT Foundation and St Mary Redcliffe. With a reputation for being ‘abnormally energetic’, Alex is passionate about enabling tangible social impact through innovation and collaboration as well as mentoring the next generation of diverse talent.
Gemma has delivered projects across strategy, policy and program evaluation, new service design and implementation, data and analytics, and transformation. She is focused on partnering with clients to tackle challenging problems and deliver solutions that can be executed to achieve impact. Her project experience includes: - Strategy and planning: Working alongside an Executive Director of Australia’s biggest public transport project – to bring their team together, to connect, and align on the key priorities for the team for the next 12-18 months. This included agreeing on measures of success and ways of working to deliver their program of work effectively. - Strategy development: Working with the CEO and board of a community affordable housing organisation in Sydney's west to agree on their overall strategic direction and aspiration and consider key strategic questions to set them up for future success and to assess their investment pipeline and growth strategy. - Developing an advocacy narrative: Working with the head of External Affairs of a peak body in the energy industry, Gemma worked collaboratively with the team to develop a set of 'mega themes' to better define their work priorities and align their work to the broader organisational goals.
